Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell

As per the Guidelines of UGC, NAAC and the Supreme Court, the Women's Harassment Cell has been established by our college to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the female staff members and students of the college.

Our college is a co-educational institution. It provides Opportunities to both boys and girls to develop their leadership qualities. However, there are a large number of women who work hard for men here. Hence, any unwelcome sexually motivated behaviour,  whether directly or by implication involving physical contacts or advance demand for sexual favours, sexually spoiled remarks, and the unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal expressions of a sexual nature which affect their right to work in a congenial environment at the workplace are strictly observed and severely finished. At sensitizing the students and the staff and working diligently to prevent sexual harassment in the college. Complaints or sexual harassment shall be lodged with the committee, and appropriate disciplinary action is initiated by the members in accordance to the rules and regulations of the college.

the sexual harassment of Women at Workplace or College Campus Act 2013 is a legislative act in India that seeks to protect women from sexual harassment at their workplace. The act came into force on 9th December, 20213. This statute suppressed the Vishkha guidance for the prevention of sexual harassment introduced by the Supreme Court.

Objectives

  1. To prevent the sexual harassment of women.
  2. To prevention gender discrimination
  3. To conduct periodical programmes on women's empowerment.
  4. To provide a conductive environment and a congenial atmosphere for both girls and faculty members
  5. To form guidelines and norms against sexual harassment.
  6. To develop principles and procedures to combat sexual harassment.
  7. To work out the details for the implementation of these policies.
  8. To prepare a detailed plan of action, both short and long-term.
  9. To organise a gender sensitization awareness programme.

Reporting:- No cases are registered of sexual harassment in the year of 2018-2019
