The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector program of the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It was launched in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality of students through community service. At Nawada Vidhi Mahavidyalaya, the NSS Committee plays a pivotal role in nurturing socially responsible, morally upright, and community-driven citizens, especially important in the context of legal education.


Vision and Mission

The vision of the NSS unit at Nawada Vidhi Mahavidyalaya is to build a bridge between academic learning and social commitment, encouraging students to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.

The mission is to instil the values of selfless service, discipline, and national integration, and to inspire students to contribute meaningfully to society.


Objectives of the NSS Committee

Structure of the NSS Committee

The NSS Committee at Nawada Vidhi Mahavidyalaya is led by:

  • Program Officer (PO) – A faculty member trained and appointed to oversee the unit's functioning.
  • Committee Members – Faculty members and administrative staff who help in organizing activities.
  • Student Volunteers – A selected group of enthusiastic students from all academic years who actively participate in NSS activities.

The unit functions under the guidance of Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, and complies with all norms and directives issued by the NSS Regional Directorate.


Major Activities Undertaken

The NSS Unit of Nawada Vidhi Mahavidyalaya regularly conducts a variety of activities that reflect its commitment to service, including:

  • Cleanliness and Sanitation Campaigns (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan)

As a law college, Nawada Vidhi Mahavidyalaya gives special attention to legal literacy campaigns through NSS. Volunteers often organise:
